Tumhari Sullu Movie Review

DIRECTION: Suresh Triveni
GENRE: Comedy, Drama
DURATION:2 hours 3minutes
Following a four-year dry season following Kahaani (2012), Vidya Balan, at last, gets a film that, however not faultless, gives her a character who stays generous through and through. Tumhari Sulu additionally takes her into a region that she has not so far investigated: the full-scale comic drama. It enables her to be entertaining while at the same time giving us something to think about, and Balan pulls off the part of Sulu with the expertise of a tightrope walker.
Sulochana urf Sulu (Vidya Balan), a chirpy and sensational housewife who is ambitious and awaits the right opportunity. Her better half Ashok Dubey (Manav Kaul) is a legit employee at a garment manufacturing plant since twelve long years. The two lead an upbeat married life until the point that Sulu gets a chance to have a late night show with title ‘Saree wali bhabhi’ on a radio station.
Station head Maria (Neha Dhupia) alongside the show maker Pankaj (Vijay Maurya) and RJ Albeli Anjali (RJ Malishka) urge Sulu to host the show. Her life changes topsy-turvy when her own life goes for a hurl.
Tumhari Sulu has a light touch, however, it isn’t a non-genuine film. The comedic tone, truth be told, enables it to mention a few important objective facts about how a family unit gets upset when the lady of the house, who has been — conveniently for you — homebound all of these years, chooses to have a career.
Vidya Balan yet again proves her mettle with finesse. She is the ace of her craft. With those chiffon sarees and a major grin, she looks outwardly engaging and enjoyable as Sulu. Her comic timing is faultless. Take a bow Manav Kaul who carries the part of Ashok without hardly lifting a finger. His chemistry with Vidya is inarguably the best. His disappointment and strain at work are so genuine. Neha Dhupia does her part exceptionally well. You will like her as a station head in those flowy dresses and English pronunciation. Rest of the star cast is by all accounts the ideal throwing. Small Kid who plays Pranav is great as well.
Tumhari Sulu isn’t a perfect film, however, it is unquestionably worth a viewing as much for the quality of the acting and for its technical finesse. Regardless, a film is anything but difficult to begin to look all starry eyed at when Vidya Balan is this fantastic. Try not to miss this riveting story of a working-class housewife cum radio jockey. You will leave the theatres with tears of bliss!
We give Tumhari Sullu 3 stars.
That’s all from our side for this week’s movie review.
